Vision

In line with, and to support the vision of Andalas University, the vision of the Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University, is set as follows: 

To be a reputable and prestigious faculty in the implementation of education, research and services to the community in the field of agriculture.

The Faculty of Agriculture of Andalas University is determined on dedicating a wider and more important role on the development of knowledge, science and technology as well as delivering an applicable solution for the advancement of Indonesian agriculture. Therefore, the development of the Faculty of Agriculture of Andalas University is directed to: “Sustainable and pro-poor agriculture” by implementing advanced and applied technology research with advanced topics, which are (a) sustainable agriculture, (b) bio-energy, (c) pro-poor agribusiness, and (d) local superiority-based food endurance.

Mission

  1. To conduct qualified academic education;

  2. To conduct basic and applied research;

  3. To dedicate the mastered knowledge, technology and science to the community;

  4. To build a productive and sustainable cooperation network; 

  5. To develop good organization and management;

  6. To develop the trade units to increase the income.

Objectives 

  1. To produce graduates who are globally competitive, have the spirit of entrepreneurship, care for the environment, and to be acknowledged by the stakeholders; 

  2. To increase the faculty’s capacity in order to spread and expand the society’s access;

  3. To develop and utilize knowledge, technology and arts, which are relevant with the purposes of national and regional development through the implementation of learning program, research, institutional founding, and developing capable and usable academic resources;

  4. To improve the implementation of services to the community in order to transform the knowledge, research findings, and learning modules to the community;

  5. To expand and increase beneficial collaborating network with various governmental/private institutions, both at home and abroad;

  6. To create a reliable and professional campus community supported by scientific culture, which refers to the admitted principles;

  7. To increase the quality of facility, infrastructure, instruments, and technology based on the national and international standard, along with the creation of a conducive and valuable academic atmosphere for the society;

  8.  To develop and increase the income sources through cooperation and trade unit development.
