Unand Host of Tennis Alumni Association of PERTI

Padang (Unand) - Universitas Andalas hosted a tennis tournament competition between alumni of higher education (PERTI) throughout Indonesia which was opened directly by Padang Mayor H. Mahyeldi Ansyarullah, SP on Friday night (8/9) in the Hall of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Andalas, Jati.


Chairman of the tournament tennis championship Dr. Indra Dwipa said the current event is the ninth tournament held since 2008 followed by 16 universities throughout Indonesia.

Furthermore, he said the tennis match between alumni of college 2017 was competing for the trophy chairman of the Central Board of Management (DPP) Unand Alumni Association. H. Asman Abnur, SE, MSi.

He mentioned that for this year, there are 11 alumni of Indonesian universities, namely Gadjah Mada University (UGM), University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Padjajartan State University (UNPAD), Ten Technology Institute Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), State University of Padang (UNP) and Unand.

"the eleven colleges will be divided into 12 teams with 4 groups where each group consists of three universities conducted for two days from 9-10 September," he said.

He said the closing of this event on Sunday (10/9) with UII as the 1st winner, UNY for 2nd winner, and the third winner was the host, Universit Andalas

Meanwhile, Rector of Universitas Andalas, Prof. Dr. Tafdil Husni, SE, MBA welcomes the tennis tournaments between alumni of universities throughout Indonesia. "This tournament was held in order to commemorate the 61st anniversary of Universitas Andalas," he continued.

He hopes this activity can improve the relationship among alumni of universities in Indonesia.

As he said,  the partnership among the alumni becomes one of the factors to improve the progress and glory of the nation.
